Crafty Creations Challenges Challenge #373 - Anything Goes

Crafty Creations Challenge #373

I'm linking my card up to the Anything Goes challenge over at Crafty Creations Challenges.

Crafty Creations Challenge #373

I've been picking up sassy sentiment stamps for coffee for awhile.

I thought I'd better start using them!

This sentiment is from Rubbernecker Stamps. I love it!

Crafty Creations Challenge #373

The background was created using a few stamps from the Stampin' Up Timeless Textures stamp set.

The coffee cup die and stamp is from the Sizzix Coffee set by Stephanie Bernard.

Crafty Creations Challenge #373

I used a Spellbinders circle die for the sentiment.

Inks used were Memento rich cocoa, Distress Oxide inks in vintage photo & walnut stain.

I'll be posting more coffee cards in the near future. I need to use my stamps!

Two Cards, Same Colors, Different Looks

fullsizeoutput_2364

I was playing around with some distress oxide inks today.

I've created two cards using the same colors but they look very different.

fullsizeoutput_2368

I used distress watercolor cardstock for both cards.

For my first card I used the smooth surface.

I put some ink on my mat, spritzed with water and dipped each card panel into the ink. In order to layer the colors, I dried the cardstock after each color was applied.

fullsizeoutput_2366

The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions and so is the die I used for the coffee cups.
I used a Stampin' Up stamp set and a Bo Bunny stamp set on the background.
I'll list the names of all products used below.

fullsizeoutput_236c

For my second card I used the textured surface.

The look created is way different than the first card. I like them both!

fullsizeoutput_236e

I did the same process to layer the inks for this card as I did for the first one.

fullsizeoutput_236a

The sentiment used for this card is Funny Bones by Riley & Company.

I also use some sparkling clear droplets on this card.

Products used:
Taylored Expressions: Some Like It Hot & Coffee Time
Stampin' Up: Timeless Textures
Bo Bunny: Stained Textures
Ranger: Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock
Funny Bones by Riley & Company
Distress Oxides: antique linen, fossilized amber, wild honey, peacock feathers, fired brick, vintage photo

So Very Thankful

fullsizeoutput_179b

I finished my card for the design team that I'm on just by the skin of my teeth! Normally I try to work ahead if at all possible. For some reason I struggled with this sketch! It's such an easy sketch, I'm not sure what my problem was. I kept going over and over in my head what I wanted to do. I'd start working on my card and then scrap the whole thing. I'm just happy I finished it and can move forward!

So Very Thankful

I used a stencil from Stampin' Up with fossilized amber distress oxide ink. I brushed it on with one of my Clarity brushes. The butterflies were cut using two Martha Stewart punches. I took painters tape and added fossilized amber and black soot ink to my cardstock before punching the butterflies.

So Very Thankful

For my sentiment I used a stamp from Gina K Designs.

Be sure to stop by the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and check out the weekly challenge!

Supplies:
Stampin' Up: Happy Patterns Decorative Masks
Martha Stewart: Butterfly punchs
Ranger: Distress Oxide Inks: fossilized amber, black soot
Amuse: Creative Candy

Live Laugh Love

Live Laugh Love

My card for today uses a Stampin' Up stencil for my background. I placed my stencil over my card panel, added distress oxide ink and then spritzed with water. I stamp the image with distress oxide ink also. I just love how they oxide inks stamp. I've been using them almost exclusively. I can't wait until more colors are released. The sentiment was stamped with Versafine ink. All products are listed below.

Birthday Floral

Happy Birthday

Today I'm sharing a CAS birthday card I created using an older retired stamp set from Stampin' Up called Two-Step Stampin' Painted Garden.

I inked up the stamp with distress ink and spritzed with water and then stamped onto watercolor cardstock. I heat embossed the sentiment which is from Gina K Stamps called Scripty Sayings and diecut with Taylored Expressions stitched banner stacklets.

Birthday Floral

I added glossy accents to all the flower centers.

Foiled Cards

Foiled Cards

Sharing two cards I created using Therm O Web deco foil.

Foiled Card

For the card above I used PeelnStick toner sheets from Therm O Web. I have to say I was really late to the party on using foiling on my cards. Actually I wasn't too interested. I took a class last September at the Mall of America that Gina from Gina K Designs hosted and I was hooked! I've followed Gina's blog and watched her videos on Stamp TV since 2008 so it was so nice to meet her. She is just a lovely person and so talented!

Back to the card....after die cutting the Stampin' Up Rose Garden die with the toner sheet, I ran it through my Royal Sovereign laminator using summer rainbow deco foil. I love how it turned out! There were a few spots where the foil didn't adhere and I was fine with that. I like how that made it look more vintage. I adhered the rose to a panel that I ran through my Big Shot using a Cuttlebug embossing folder called script. The sentiment is from Gina K called All About You. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and die cut it using the large labels die from Spellbinders. The bling is from my stash that is from Recollections.

Foiled Card

For this card I used Therm O Web's deco foil transfer gel. What a game changer this stuff is! It's so nice to be able to use the stencils in your stash with foil! I smeared it on just like you would if you were applying embossing paste. I then added Therm O Web's aqua deco foil on top and ran it through my laminator. So easy! The sentiment is from Hero Arts called Acts of Kindness that I heat embossed and die cut with Taylored Expressions stitched banner stacklets. The stencil I used is called pixelated from Deco Art. I do like the look and I like the little bit of dimension that you get from using the transfer gel.

I have made some more backgrounds with foil that I will share later. I haven't decided what sentiments I want to use with them just yet.

Cards Using Distress Oxide Inks

Impossible

I've been wanting to try this technique since I saw Karen's post on her blog Snippets. I bought my Distress Oxides quite awhile ago but haven't taken the time to play around with them. I've been on a mini book kick recently and haven't made any cards for awhile. When I sat down to start creating these cards, I was wondering if I'd forgotten how since it's been so long! Anyway, these cards were inspired by Karen's blog post.

The one above uses a stamp set from Stampin' Up called Flowering Fields and a sentiment from a stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy called Inspirational Work Art 2.

Brightest Stars

For the card above and below I used two different sets from Sweet 'n Sassy. One set is Inspirational Work Art 2 and the other is Inspirational Word Art 1. I also used the Timeless Texture stamp set from Stampin' Up.

Intention

The card below uses a stamp set from Simon Says Stamp! called Uplifting Thoughts. I also used two different dies from a Tim Holtz Alterations set from Sizzix. It's one of the mixed media sets. I don't see a name on the package so I'm not sure what it's called.

Reasons

I do like these new distress oxide inks from Ranger Ink. They definitely are different than the regular distress inks. I have to try some more stamping with them before I form an opinion.

Happiness

Happiness

I love yellow and I don't think it's any secret that black is my favorite color! Every card I used make always had black somewhere on it. I still use black ink but I've gotten away from using as much black as I used to. I'm trying to broaden my horizons and use a few more colors.

I love this sentiment from the Choose Happy stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. In fact every sentiment on this set is wonderful. Background is from the Stampin' Up Timeless Textures set that I have fallen in love with.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Smile

Smile

I know that my crafting style has changed in the last few years. Many of the cards I used to make seemed like they had so much stuff on them. I'm really starting to like more simplified, clean and simple cards. That doesn't mean that I'm not going to make cards that have more embellishments and other things on them, it just means I'm more drawn to the more simple type of cards.

This card again uses a stamp set from Stampin' Up and a sentiment from a Simon Says Stamp set.

How To Make Me Happy......

Coffee

I bought a new stamp set from Stampin' Up and I love it! I'm pretty sure this set has been out for a few months. I don't have a lot of Stampin' Up products but lately I've found they have a few more items that I'm really liking.

The other stamp I used on this card is from Simon Says Stamp. Love the quality of their stamps.
I'll be using both of these sets a lot. I made the card below last week so I thought I add it to this post. It was the first card I made with this stamp set. It was inspired by a card I came across. I'd add the link to it but I can't find what blog I saw it on.

Thanks

January Card Swap

It's time to share my cards again that I made for a swap I belong to. We took the month of December off. These are the first cards I've made since November. I didn't even get Christmas cards out this year. I started them and just never finished. I've played around with different mediums and created some backgrounds but that's about all I've managed to do. I really felt like I was struggling when I was making these cards for the swap. I'm hoping that getting back to it each month will get me going. I've even thought I should participate in a few cards challenges thinking that might help to get my creative juice flowing again.

DSC00095

For this card I used Kuretake watercolors. I watched a video series by Justine Hovey on watercolor and tried this technique. I used a background stamp from Hero Arts called Hexagon Background CG517. I heat embossed with white embossing powder. Sentiment is from PrintWorks F2545.

DSC00094

I used Dyan Reaveley's paints for this card with a stencil by Stampin' Up called Happy Patterns. I love these paints and have nothing but wonderful things to say about them! Sentiment is by Hero Arts C4482. The below also uses her paints. Stencil is from Hero Arts called Petals Pair and sentiment is from PrintWorks E2627.

DSC00093

DSC00092

This card uses a Hero Arts background stamp called Floating Flowers CG124. I again used Kuretake watercolors. I know this looks pink but I actually used red. I think when I rolled my paper towels over it while it was wet it really made it lighten up. Sentiment by PrintWorks D3613.

Now it's time to get started on the cards for February! Thanks for stopping by!

Used Stamps

ClearStamps

As I've been setting up my craft room, I've been going through my stamp collection. I've found several that I don't use anymore. I think I've listed a little over 40 items! Some of these sets have barely been used, some never used and some have been well used.  Some of the very well used sets I purchased from a scrapbook store that used them for classes.

Rubberstamps

I've listed them all on eBay. If you're interested you can see them all here. You can also access my eBay store from my Pattitudes Facebook page. Just click on the Shop tab on the top right.

embossingfolders

I also found a few embossing folders that I accidentally bought twice! I'll be listing a few more items over the next few days. Keep checking back in my eBay store because you never know what you'll find!
