It's Called Balance - Multiple Anything Goes Challenges

It's Called Balance....

I love sentiments, especially humorous ones. We definitely need humor in our daily lives. This sentiment is from Taylored Expressions and the set is called Pitch Black. There's a lot of truth to this one!

I'm linking this card to multiple challenges, six of them! They are all Anything Goes challenges and I love those the best! Be sure to click the links below to check out all the cards for each of the challenges.
It's Called Balance....

For my background I used one of the Sizzix Tim Holtz 3-D Texture Fades. This one is called Lumber. I've picked up about three or four of these and I loved the texture and dimension you get when using them.

It's Called Balance....

Before I ran my paper through my Big Shot, I spritzed both sides of the paper with water. After it dried I used Distress Oxide inks over the paper in these colors: antique linen and ground expresso.

For the sentiment I used VersaFine onyx black. The word Balance was stamped with Distress Marker in candied apple.

That's it for today! Thank God It's Friday!!
Thanks for taking the time to stop by!

Crafty Creations Challenges Challenge #373 - Anything Goes

Crafty Creations Challenge #373

I'm linking my card up to the Anything Goes challenge over at Crafty Creations Challenges.

Crafty Creations Challenge #373

I've been picking up sassy sentiment stamps for coffee for awhile.

I thought I'd better start using them!

This sentiment is from Rubbernecker Stamps. I love it!

Crafty Creations Challenge #373

The background was created using a few stamps from the Stampin' Up Timeless Textures stamp set.

The coffee cup die and stamp is from the Sizzix Coffee set by Stephanie Bernard.

Crafty Creations Challenge #373

I used a Spellbinders circle die for the sentiment.

Inks used were Memento rich cocoa, Distress Oxide inks in vintage photo & walnut stain.

I'll be posting more coffee cards in the near future. I need to use my stamps!

Two Cards, Same Colors, Different Looks

fullsizeoutput_2364

I was playing around with some distress oxide inks today.

I've created two cards using the same colors but they look very different.

I used distress watercolor cardstock for both cards.

For my first card I used the smooth surface.

I put some ink on my mat, spritzed with water and dipped each card panel into the ink. In order to layer the colors, I dried the cardstock after each color was applied.

The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions and so is the die I used for the coffee cups.
I used a Stampin' Up stamp set and a Bo Bunny stamp set on the background.
I'll list the names of all products used below.

For my second card I used the textured surface.

The look created is way different than the first card. I like them both!

I did the same process to layer the inks for this card as I did for the first one.

I can think of tons of stamps that I could use with it. Distress Oxide ink was used to stamp the coffee cup. That ink is so creamy, I love stamping with it. Mixed Media Canvas

Mixed Media Canvas

Oh my! I have a new found love/addiction for deli paper! I've been on sites watching videos on how deli paper is used for quite a few months. I just put it in the back of my mind to try sometime. Then I found this stamp from Everyday Valentine at Joggles and I knew I had to buy it. I didn't know what I'd use it for however. When I ordered the stamp I picked up a small amount of deli paper to try. I will definitely need to buy a larger quantity.

For my base I used a 6x6" canvas panel. The background was created using Dylusions paints and my Gelli Arts gel press printing plate. I've had the 6x6" and 3x5" plates for a few years. When I went to a stamp show in June I picked up the 8x10". Love it, I'm so glad I splurged on it! I used three different paints and then printed my background. Because it's kind of a messy job I went ahead and created two more backgrounds on deli paper at the same time. I'm going to use those for canvas projects also.

I added some texture to the background with some translucent embossing paste and some stencils by accident. I meant to grab my white paste. Since you can't see the translucent, I grabbed another stencil and used the white paste. For the flowers I used some I had in my stash from Recollections. The smaller ones where already colored. The larger ones were white so I used distress ink with water on my craft mat and ran them through the ink. After they were dry I matted the sentiment with DCWV burlap, adhered the flowers and my canvas is ready to hang out in my craft room!

I had two scraps of the background paper left. Because I can't toss things, they are large enough to use for two cards. I'm going to go work on them now. I'll post them later.

Stay Balanced

Stay Balanced

I'm on a Art Impressions kick. I've had these stamps for quite awhile and am now just getting around to using them. I've practiced with the same ones over and over. Now I want to try them all!

I really like this one called Yoga Yolanda! I really tried to get my shading right but know that I have a ways to go. Love the watercolor look. I'm probably my worst critic because I see what I want to fix. I plan to do this one again a few times and experiment with different colors and so some paper piecing.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!
