Baby Girl Mini Album

DSC00171

I thought it was time I made a mini album. Over the Memorial Day weekend while cleaning and purging my craft room I realized I have all these cute paper collections that I bought specifically for books. That's when I decided I better get busy. Many of the collections I have aren't newer ones, but that's okay. They'll still make cute books! The paper collection I used for this book is called Baby Mine from Carta Bella. The collection came with twelve double sided sheets of patterned cardstock. I also used some papers from the 6x6 paper pad. This collection had some chipboard accents that I also used.

Before I started I had to figure out which pattern I wanted for the cover. I finally settled on the alphabet sheet and I'm glad I did. I used two different patterns from the 6x6 paper pad for the cover. One I die cut with a Prima die called doilies one. The other piece was cut using a double stitched rectangle from Our Daily Bread.

I used two of the chipboard accents on the cover. The flowers are from Recollections, Prima and Jolee's. The leaves are by Recollections. The beaded strip along the binding is a beaded ribbon from Celebrate It. The ribbons are called vintage blush rose antique also from Celebrate It.

On the inside I didn't want to overwhelm the pages with embellishments. I tried to keep it as minimal as possible so that there is room for photos. I used stamps sets I had to add sentiments throughout the book. The sentiments above are from the Sweet Baby set by Technique Tuesday.

There's room for over 50 photos in this book. I love how it turned out!

For my next book I think I'll finally break out the Graphic 45 Cats and Dogs collection. I've had it forever so I think it's time to use it! This book will be heading to Florida to my cousin. I hope they love it!

Snowflake Cards

For both of these cards I used a stencil by Memory Box called Winter Large Snowflakes. I used translucent embossing paste from Studio 490, Wendy Vecchi to add dimension. I sprinkled Great Impressions glitter sparkling ice over the embossing paste while it was still wet and then set both pieces aside to dry.

I can't remember who the manufacturer of the patterned paper is. I'm leaning toward Recollections. This patterned paper was in my scrap pile and since they were a decent size I just went ahead and gave them some life! The gold glitter paper is from Recollections.

For the sentiments I used a stamp set from Technique Tuesday called Jingle All The Way. I stamped the sentiments with VersaMark and heat embossed them with gold embossing powder. The bling is from my stash. Card bases are PaperTrey Ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Unscripted Sketches #253 - You Are Simply The Best....Thank You

First off, thanks to everyone who played along with the Unscripted Sketches Blog-iversary Sketch this past week! We really appreciate it!

Congratulations to Pam! She is the winner of the Hero Arts Sympathy Stamp Set! Please contact me by 6 pm Sunday, April 20th with your mailing information. If I don't hear from you I will choose another winner. Here's what Pam said:

"Great stenciling! What a lovely card. Congrats on your 5th year. I've subscribed to your blog via email for a long time and follow on FB. Would love to win this set. Sympathy cards are often so hard to make (shared on on my blog -http://pamspaperandink.blogspot.com/2014/04/with-love-sympathy.html recently). Love the sentiments in this set."

I also want to let you know that this will be my last week as a member of the Unscripted Sketches Design Team. I've had a great time the last five months creating a card from their sketches each week and am grateful that I had the opportunity.  Now for my interpretation of this week's sketch!

I can't resist creating with kraft, black and red.....ever!

I am so in love with stencils! For this card I used the Tim Holtz Burlap Layering Stencil. Instead of using ink I chose to use Claudine Hellmuth's Studio Black Gesso. Love that stuff!

The pennants are called Nested Pennants from Spellbinders. These cute little dimensional butterflies are by Recollections.

I used a Technique Tuesday stamp set called Mama = Love by Ali Edwards for my sentiment and finished the card off by adding some sequins. I sure have a ton of those. When you buy a package you get a million! I better start using them more so I can make a dent in my stash of them :)

Unscripted Sketches #233

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I am back once again with my take on the weekly sketch from Unscripted Sketches.

There are some great cards designed by the DT this week. Check them out here!

I used patterned paper from Graphic 45's 12 Days of Christmas collection for my card.  The leaves were cut with a poinsettia die from Taylored Expressions and I added some gems for the holly. I ran the leaves through an embossing folder (I can't remember the name of this one since I tossed the packaging!).

I used a sentiment from Technique Tuesday with some burlap backing it. This was a very fun sketch and also a very versatile one. I plan to use it again.

Please join us this week with your take on the sketch above. All the details are on the blog post over at Unscripted Sketches! You don't have to have a blog in order to play. Unscripted Sketches #232

Oh how I loved the sketch from Unscripted Sketches this week! Interestingly enough this Sizzix star die is the one I was using when I wrecked my Tim Holtz Vagabond. I received my replacement Vagabond in the mail the other day and I haven't even busted it out of the box. I'm afraid to. You can read that post here

I used grungeboard for stars, covered them with glossy accents and then sprinkled Tim Holtz distress glitter over them.

The patterned paper is a pretty pattern from Recollections called Botanica Noel and the sentiment is from Technique Tuesday.

Christmas Tags

I love creating Christmas tags for gifts! Maybe it's just the satisfaction of finishing something in a short amount of time. I used my Sizzix die to cut the tags. The deer were cut from Recollections Botanica Noel (below) patterned card stock and from Krafty Christmas (above) card stock from Canvas Corp.

The sentiment is from Sweet 'n Sassy called Christmas Silhouettes. The deer were cut using the coordinating die.

For this tag I used patterned card stock from Recollections called Botanica Noel. The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday called Jingle All the Way.

These tags also uses the same stamp set from Technique Tuesday. The stars in the center were covered with glossy accents and then covered with distress glitter from Tim Holtz. I really LOVE that glitter! I definitely have to get more colors. All card stock is from Paper Trey Ink.

I'm hoping to work on some more tags and maybe some cards today. I'm so behind on cards this year. I'm not even confident that I'll have many handmade Christmas cards to send out. I might have to shoot for next year at this point. It's kind of sad really because Christmas cards are one of my favorite type to create. Who says you can't make them year round? There are no rules in crafting!

Unscripted Sketches #230

This is my first card for the Design Team over at Unscripted Sketches! I really LOVE their sketches and I know I am just going to have so much fun working with them every week. I just wish I could find a place where I could get a decent photo. It seems like I can never get the lighting right.

I used some Krafty Christmas card stock from Canvas Corp. Kraft and red are two of my favorite combinations. I also love the patterns together! I used just a hint of Tim Holtz Black Soot Distress Ink around the edges just to make them stand out. The stamp is from a new set I just bought from Technique Tuesday. One can never have enough Christmas stamps!

Vintage Tags

Bells

My title should actually say "Vintage Tags Plus Two Non Vintage Ones" but that would be way too long! I have included two tags at the bottom of this post that are in no way Vintage.

I've been a little absent in my blogging lately. I've been working on projects and just haven't had much time for my blog. I haven't even been doing much baking or made any new recipes. Gosh, I didn't even participate in Mom's Crazy Cooking Challenge this month. The 7th came and went and I completely forgot about it! This month the challenge was stuffing recipes. You can check them out here. I usually set up a board and pin all the recipes and I'm behind on that too! Next month's challenge is perfect sugar cookies. My sugar cookies don't always turn out very well so I haven't yet decided if I'll join in. I will set up a board and pin the recipes though.

Bells

These are some tags I've created with a new stamp set I picked up last weekend. We made a trip to Minnesota for a 50th Wedding Anniversary party and I was able to sneak some shopping in. This set is called Mini Holidays from Stampers Anonymous from the Tim Holz collection.

Bells

As you can see I've used the same stamp with different inks. The sentiment below is one of my favorites!

A Joyful Christmas

A Joyful Christmas

A Joyful Christmas

A Joyful Christmas

When I saw this stamp set from Technique Tuesday I had to have it. Although the "Keep Calm and...." is a bit overused, I think some of the sayings are quite humorous. This stamp set is called Twinkle On.

Keep Calm and Be Merry

Keep Calm and Twinkle On

All of these tags are available in my Etsy store. I've just finished tags for a swap I'm in. I'll share my tag and the ones I receive in December. Now I'm getting ready to start on a mini book for a swap I'm in. I'm pretty excited about participating in both swaps. I can't wait to see the the creativity of the others in their projects.

Thanks for stopping by!
