CAS on Friday - Flowers

CAS on Friday - Flowers

I found another flower challenge. I've really had good luck this past week with card challenges! I wish that would happen every week. This challenge is another clean and simple challenge. Be sure to click the link below and check out the cards their design team created.

For this card I used the stamp set called The Most Beauty by Reverse Confetti. My background was created using twisted citron Distress Oxide ink. I create backgrounds and toss them in a container until I decide what I want to do with them. For my flower I took one of the backgrounds from my container and die cut a wildflower using a die from the Sizzix Tim Holtz die called Wildflowers. The Distress Oxide colors used for the flower are twisted citron, fossilized amber, salty ocean and faded jeans.

The colors aren't always exact on my photos even though I edit them. Some colors look exactly like the card. The background color is a little darker in the photo than the real card.

CAS(E) this Sketch #286

CAS(E) this Sketch #286

I'm playing along with the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge again this week!

They have the best sketches!

For this card I used leftover ink that I had used for another card. The distress oxide colors are: carved pumpkin, fossilized amber and salty ocean. I then added some stenciling over the background using Hero Arts Stencil Borders using some of the salty ocean ink. My sentiment is from Reverse Confetti called A friend Like You. I love their stamps, they have the best sentiments! Bling is from Doodlebug Design.

This was a great clean and simple sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch this week! Be sure to stop over and see all the beautiful cards their design team created!

Color Throwdown Challenge CTD505

Thank You

I'm participating in the Color Throwdown Challenge this week!

I do like this color combination.

Thank You

The sentiment on the card is from the Flower Turnabout Stamp Set from Concord & 9th.

I used the Double Stitched Circle die on this card and the one below from Our Daily Bread Designs

Distress oxide inks were used to watercolor some mixed media paper.

I pulled out an older Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations Frameworks die for my background.

The greenery was die cut using Sizzix Tim Holtz Garden Greens

Friend Like You

Since I have extra die cut pieces and greenery I decided to make a second card.

I set aside the rest of my pieces to create more cards later.

The sentiment on this card is from the Wreath Builder Set from Gina K Designs.

Hello Friend

Hello Friend

I have another card for some challenges today! I was actually planning to use this card for the Color Throwdown challenge. After I had published my post and linked to all the challenges I realized I hadn't linked to the one I was originally going to! I thought no big deal, I'll just create a new card since I still had some time.

I had a whole list of challenges to link to and you can only link so many to some of the challenges. Some are unlimited. I tend to try to only link to one or up to three per card. If I had unlimited crafting time I would create one card per challenge, but I don't always have that kind of time unfortunately.

I used a Prima stencil with my Clarity brushes and some Distress Oxide ink to craft my background. I stamped the sentiment with Versafine onyx black ink heat embossed clear embossing powder. All supplies are listed below.

I've linked my card to the three challenges above. Please take time to check them out. There are some beautiful cards on each blog that their design teams have created.

Thankful For Your Friendship

Thankful

Hello! I hope everyone is enjoying their three day weekend. I know I am! Last week I made a list of upcoming challenges that I want to participate in. Since then I've slowing been creating cards and deciding which ones I'll finish in time to link up to. I don't think I will get enough cards made to play along with all of them, but nonetheless I enjoy trying to!

I used distress oxide inks over a Hero Arts stencil using my Clarity stencil brushes. I love them and wish I had a few more! They blend ink so effortlessly. I've linked my card to the four challenges below. Be sure to check them out. Their design teams have created some gorgeous cards for all the challenges.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes
Simon Says Flicker Challenge #79: Just Stamp It
Crafty Creations #349: Anything Goes
Creative Moments Challenge 125: Anything Goes

Thankful

For my sentiment I used a stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. I stamped with Versafine black onyx ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. All supplies are listed below.

Be sure to check out these challenges that I've link my card to:

Sunday Morning Cards

Good Friends

Super Fun Birthday

Sharing a couple cards I made earlier today while listening to the wind howl and the rain hit the windows.

For both of these cards I picked out some random patterned paper from my stash. Lord knows I have plenty of it! I love being able to use it with stencils. The red paper is from October Afternoon and the teal paper is from Core'dinations. I used Hero Arts Petals Stencil Pair with Ranger Texture Paste on both of these cards. The flowers on the teal card are some leftovers sitting on my craft table that I used on another card.

Unscripted Sketches #247 - Friend

I decided on a super easy design for the Unscripted Sketch this week. I love vertical sentiments and I'd like to find more more of them. I know I'd get a lot of use out of them.

Using just two colors and no patterned paper made for a very quick card to put together. I stamped the design with Hero Arts Blooming Meadow stamp, cut it apart and adhered the pieces to the black card stock with pop dots to add dimension. The sentiment is also from Hero Arts and is called Friends.

Friend Card Using Negative Scrap

Just Saying Hello Friend

As I was picking up my craft table I found this negative scrap leftover from this card I made the other day. Just as I was about to drop it in the garbage I realized that it would be perfect for another card! This is what I came up with using patterned paper from the Blissful collection from Authentique.  I love pairing yellow, gray, white and black (some of my favorites!) together.

I adhered the patterned paper behind the strip of negative black. I stamped the sentiment with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Black Soot and embossed it with clear embossing powder. For the sentiment I combined two Hero Arts Stamps Sets: Friends - CL351 and All Occasion - CL272. The cardstock is True Black, White and Lemon Tart from PTI. The gems are Hero Hues from Hero Arts.
