21 Days Of Christmas Cards - Day 18 - Peace On Earth

Day 18! Actually this is day 19 and I'll be posting that card next! I'm behind by a day! I'm nearing the end of my Christmas cards. This one uses a Stickeroo from Penny Black from the Christmas at Dusk sheet. I love the colors on the black background. Obviously this doesn't fall in with the traditional holiday colors, but I love it!

21 Cards Of Christmas Cards - Day 4 - Holiday Greetings

I love kraft, red, black and white together. That was my inspiration for this card. This is Day 4 of my "21 Cards Of Christmas".

This card was such an easy one to do assembly line fashion, so I made several.

21 Cards Of Christmas Cards - Day 1 - Christmas Greetings

This year I'm calling my card blog posts "The 21 Cards Of Christmas". This will be my first post with card #1. I'll be posting all of them throughout the month of December.

I was actually going to streamline my cardmaking this year by only creating a few designs and making multiples of each. The last few years I've made way more designs than I needed to. I also found that I was still sending cards out the week before Christmas. Well, my husband told me he wanted 15 different cards for his employees so that upset my whole system this year! I'm happy to report that everything worked out. I started earlier and didn't let myself work on anything else but cards. I wanted to get them all finished, get photos of them and start getting them in the mail by the Monday after Thanksgiving and I accomplished that! Now I can start on some other projects I've had on the back burner.

For today's card I used something I've never used before: Penny Black Stickeroos. What an easy way to create cards! I'm not sure I'd use them for every card since I like stamping my own images, but the ones I chose worked beautifully. They're perfect for people that are just starting out and don't have alot of cardmaking supplies.

This Stickeroo is called Together In Christmas - #10-186. I did apply stickles on the poinsettia, but it's hard to see in the photo.

Minnesota Mini Book

I wish I could scrap my photos as soon as an event or vacation was finished. I know people like that. I'm always in awe that they get them done so efficiently. I'm years behind and probably always will be.

That's why I'm so thrilled that I just finished a mini book of the few photos I have from my March visit to Minnesota!

This patterned paper from BoBunny is gorgeous!

I took my 4 x 6 cardstock and adhered my paper and then cut my edges with Tim Holtz Alterations On The Edge Dies. I then used my Cinch to do the binding.

If you pull the flowers throughout the book, there is a hidden tag for journaling. 

I used Hero Arts, Teresa Collins and TPC Studio stamps throughout the book.

I used a few of the Tim Holtz Idea-ology Adage Tickets on a couple of pages. 

I loved being able to see family and friends. My only regret is that I missed getting a photo with a few people!

More Pet Cards

I'm really having a fun time with these pet photos. I've got them all in piles with sentiments to match. Now I'm just working my way through them all. This morning I came across some good cat ones that I'll use with my next set of cards.

This is Maisy, my friend Misty's dachshund. Doesn't she look comfortable lounging in the grass on a warm, sunny day!

This is Calvin. He was our first cat and I must say the best one! Unfortunately Calvin left us way before his time. He was the most photogenic of all of our pets. I have more cards coming of him. He always had the best expressions and would let you do anything to him. He loved posing for the camera!

Last but not least is our dog Toby. I think he's such a cutie, but I have a hard time getting a decent photo of him. The camera just doesn't capture how adorable he is, or he moves right when I snap the picture. This was his look of sheer panic because he knew I was leaving and he couldn't go with me.

Lou Is Back!

I can't resist making cards with pictures of Lou! This one just makes me smile. My daughter painted his nails red and he seems to be showing them off and smiling in this photo. I think I found the perfect sentiment!

Lou gets alot of exercise in the summer. My daughter takes him to dog parks so he can burn off some of his energy. He's like the energizer bunny, he never stops.

I love this next one! He looks totally worn out.

My very first card of Lou was a birthday one. It was so popular, I decided to recreate it with a different sentiment. I think it turned out just as well.

I'm still going through all the photos I've so graciously been given, trying to find just the right sentiment for each one. I'll post the cards once I've created them. Thanks for stopping by!

Love The Earthtones

I'm still experimenting with the sticky-back canvas and I like this effect using embossing folders. I used Memento ink in cottage ivy and potter's clay.

I just used scraps to make this card so I'm not sure what the color names of the cardstock are. Now that I'm more organized I find that I don't waste as much cardstock.

I like the way this card turned out.

The Sweet Stop Sketch SSS39

If there was ever a challenge designed for me, this was it. This week over at The Sweet Stop the sketch challenge is to make the sentiment the focal point of your card. Since I can't stamp large images because of my Rheumatoid Arthritis, this was perfect!

Below is the sketch I worked from. I tried to make the photo as dark as I could to make the colors pop, but everything is so light it's still hard to see. I took ink and went around all the edges of the cardstock and added stickles to the flower centers. I also took my Bahama Blue Memento Ink and inked the edges of the fabric eyelet that I used for my borders.
