Thank You and Sympathy Cards

You are in our thoughts and prayers

I thought I'd attempt to use up some of the patterned paper that I've been collecting over the years. Most of it I have filed by manufacturer and I just have one sheet of this and that. My thought was to take a sheet and make three or more cards from it. I love the pattern on this one but unfortunately I tossed the barcode strip and I don't know who the manufacturer is.

For the card above and below I used the same stamp set for the sentiments and images. It's a Hero Arts set called With Sympathy - CL476. I've really gotten a lot of mileage out of this set.  I also used an EK Success stamp for the border on the first card. For the image on that one I heat embossed it with black embossing powder. The one below was stamped with Smooch ink.

Sending caring thoughts your way

For the thank you card below I used another Hero Arts stamp set called Feather Grass - CL282. The edge punch is from Martha Stewart. Cardstock used for all cards is from PTI. Bling is from Hero Arts and Stampendous.

thank you for your kindness

Cards From Mistakes

Sparkle
The other day I scored cardstock incorrectly not once, but THREE times! I didn't want to toss it so I set it aside. I think I was just so engaged in watching the verdict in the Casey Anthony trial that I wasn't paying attention to what I was doing.

Here are the two of the cards I've come up with. I'm still working on a third one. On both of them I used a strip of cardstock that I adhered to the edge of the card where it didn't meet the other side. I then used an EK Success Punch on the edge called Open Scallop.

In my email yesterday, I received the video of the week email from Hero Arts (you can check it out here). I was inspired by how the buttons were embossed, so this is my take on it:
Sparkle
I looked through my stamps, found one I liked, stamped on the button and embossed it. On the next card instead of embossing, I used Smooch and made dots.
Happy B-Day
I then covered the button with an iridescent sparkle glaze.
Happy B-Day
For the leaves I used a die from Sizzix called Branch with Leaves.
Happy B-Day
I used a stylus to give the leaves some dimension.

Other products used for these cards: PTI Cardstock in Rustic White, Buttons, Smooch, EK Success Edge Punch, Patterned Paper from Creative Imaginations, McGill Stylus, Tim Holtz Black Soot Distress Ink, Clear Embossing Powder, Baker's Twine, Hero Arts Stamps - Find Joy - CL497.

Santa

I bought the stamp set "St. Nick" from We R Memory Keepers because I thought the Santa looked so cute. Once I got home I had a hard time deciding what to do with it. One of the reasons I had such a difficult time is that I don't use markers with any of my stamps. I kept looking at it and then would set it aside. Finally, I decided to use Flower Soft and Liquid Applique. I also used Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink.

When I finished the card, I fell in love with it!

Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas!

I thought I'd get creative with my tree on this card. I think I succeeded. I used my EK Success Open Scallop Edge Punch to create strips and then cut them into pieces to form the tree.
