Snow Much Fun

Snow Much Fun

I think this might be my favorite layout I've created lately. I'm really happy with the way it turned out! I did this page for display at The Baker's Wife, where you can find all the products listed below. These photos are the grandson of owner Phyllis Van Beynen. The way I've cropped the photo looks like there isn't any space on the right where the photo is or on the left where the snowflake is. Trust me there is!

Products used for this layout:
Nestabilities Standard Circles Small
TPC Studio Christmas Village Printed Brads and Holly Jolly Pearlized & Glittered Brads
Buttons
We R Memory Keepers Crimson Sewn Cardstock
Dreamstreet Papers Alphabet

Another fun Blog Candy contest is going on! You could win the stamp set below called Morphic Birds from Inkadinkado by clicking here. All you have to do is become a follower and leave a comment. If you're already a follower, just leave a comment stating what you will do with the set if you were to win. Good luck!

Here's a quick layout using We R Memory Keepers Sewn Cardstock. This is such beautiful paper and it comes in many colors and patterns.

Christmas Baking Layout

Here's a two page layout I just finished for Phyllis from the local scrapbook store, The Baker's Wife. Why is it so much easier to scrap someone else's photos? Is it because mine aren't organized and ready to go?
Phyllis-Grandchildren Xmas Baking

Very cute pictures of her and the grandkids decorating Christmas cookies. I did leave a little space on the first page down in the right hand corner so that Phyllis has a small journaling area to record the fun memories.

I'll be dropping this off at the store this week for display.

Joy Card

Joy

Joy Inside

Once again I was able to make a card from scraps used for other projects. I love when that happens! This gate-fold card uses patterned paper from Moxxie and the laser-cut paper doilie from BasicGrey that I previously used on a layout.

I scored an A2 card at 2-1/8-inches on both sides and covered it with paper. I ran the ribbon behind the paper and out each side. I used Flower Soft to cover chipboard letters and used a sticker ornament from Moxie for the "O". On the inside I stamped a message with Hero Arts Clear Stamps.

Products used for this card: BasicGrey Laser-Cut Paper Doilies Jovial Doilies Poinsettia Bouquet, Bazzill Cardstock, Moxxie Through The Woods & Joys of the Season Patterned Paper & Cardstock Stickers, Flower Soft in Christmas Green, May Arts Ribbon, Dreamstreet Papers Chipboard Alphabet, Bazzill Cardinal Jewels, Hero Arts Stamps - Merriest Wishes - CL113.

This card is on display at The Baker's Wife.

Thanks for looking!

1st Christmas Layout

My cousin's daughter so graciously let me use a photo of her family for this layout. Crystal and her husband, Brian, had triplets in July 2009. Technically, they are my first cousins, three times removed, and that information came from here. Crystal's mother Bonnie and I are first cousins because our mothers were sisters. The "cousin relationships" are so confusing to me, that I'm just going to call them my third cousins even if it isn't correct and leave it at that. The triplets, Gabriel, Lyla and Isabella are almost 15 months old and are just adorable! I'm hoping to do more projects with photos of them. I haven't actually met them yet, since we don't live near each other. Hopefully one day.....

1st Christmas

I created this layout using one of the laser-cut paper doilies from BasicGrey. This one is the Jovial Doilies Poinsettia Bouquet. I think that it's just gorgeous!

I did add stickles to the doily

and also to the poinsettia and leaves.

This layout will be on display at The Baker's Wife on Friday.

Layouts Using BasicGrey's Cappella Collection

Here are two layouts I've created for display at The Baker's Wife. For both of them I've used BasicGrey's Cappella Collection. I love the "earthiness" look of this paper. I have to say I was a little out of my comfort zone with these layouts. As I working on these, I noticed that I generally gravitate to using solid backgrounds with a small amount of patterned paper when I scrapbook. I tried to use more patterns with these and found I like it.

For the first layout I chose to use some photos from a recent walk we took on The Bearskin Trail on a beautiful sunny fall afternoon.

Walk

The second layout uses photos from a recent visit we had with family from Minnesota. We took a trip to Little Bohemia in Manitowish Waters, WI where we had a wonderful lunch. We then took a tour of the room where the John Dillinger shootout occurred.

Catching Up In Eau Claire

Catching Up In Eau Claire

Another great sketch from Sketches! {by tamara}. This one is #101 from January 5, 2010. You really should hop over to her blog and check out her sketches if you need some inspiration for your layouts. There's such a nice selection to choose from.

My step-son Kyle's girlfriend, Cassie, was nice enough to take this shot of us after we had lunch. Thanks, Cassie!

Well, back to work. I'm in the middle of some projects that will be on display at The Baker's Wife, a local scrapbook store. I'll post some photo's when I'm finished.
