Unscripted Sketches #231

I created a pretty clean and simple card for this week's sketch. It was a good way to use of some of the washi tape I've been hoarding. 

I'm not sure who the manufacturer is for this tape since I tossed all the packaging. I sure do love the pattern and the bright colors!

Cards Using Cosmo Cricket Scraps + Washi Tape

 

I found a scrap of Cosmo Cricket cardstock in my stash that was large enough to make three cards. For this one I used the flower pattern and for the other two I used the striped side. I used washi tape on all three. Out of all of them, I think this one is my favorite! No special reason why, but I suspect it's the black that does it.

 

I stamped a flower and embossed it with white embossing powder. I love the center on this flower. It's the Newsprint Candi from Craftworkcards. 

I used glue dots on the buttons when I attached them to the washi tape. I've found that they don't adhere very well. This job called for the heavy duty hot glue gun!

Birthday + Thank You Cards From Bo Bunny Scraps

I took a scrap of patterned paper by Bo Bunny and used one side for this birthday card and the other side for the thank you card below. The style is basically the same for both cards. I used washi tape that I thought complimented the colors of the patterned paper. I love mixing patterns!

Pink is so not my color! I do like to mix it with black so I didn't think this one looked too bad. I can handle it if it's mixed with bright colors or if used with baby projects.

Cards

I thought I'd share a few of the Christmas cards I've been working on. I purchased some new holiday patterned paper, but I find myself trying to use up some that I've had for awhile. I've also been using up a lot of my scraps.  I'm not sure of the name of this paper, but I believe its from Teresa Collins. The die for the tree is one I bought after watching a demo at Scrapfest. It's from Hero Arts and is called Stamp & Cut Christmas Trees. There are also three tree stamps with the set. The sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts and the set is called Joy To All. 

This card is based on the first one. I used up some scraps I had and I'm not positive, but this paper might be from BoBunny. The stamp is from Paper Trey Ink called Christmas Blessings. I don't think you can tell from the photo, but for the sentiment I embossed it with clear embossing powder. 

I used patterned paper from Echo Park called Holly Jolly Christmas for this card. This design is not mine. I've seen many cards made like this and have always thought it would be a nice quick card to make. It's super simple, with the exception of the darn bows! I did use a fork though to make it easier. The Hero Arts Stamp set for this sentiment is called Merriest Wishes.

Lastly, I made this card for a great gal from the Scrappy Girl group I belong to. I met a ton of wonderful ladies online who share the same passion as I do for Scrapfest. The woman who received this card fell and broke her arm and ended up needing surgery. I've been stocking up on Washi Tape, so I thought I better start working through my stash! I love Hero Arts stamps and this one is called Handwritten Wishing.
