Masculine Cards

One Of A Kind

The other day I pulled out leftover scraps I have of  Graphic 45 collections when I created a card for a challenge I participated in. Since them it seems all I want to do is make cards! I don't usually make many masculine cards because I don't really have many stamps that are "masculine" related. I found this image sheet from the "A Proper Gentleman" collection in my stash and then went through my stamp sets. I found a few that seemed to work with the images. I just started with the three cards I'm sharing today, but I can probably make about 17 more! When I do, I'll be sure to share them.

For this card I used an embossing folder called Whimsy from Lifestyle Crafts. I chose to use Tim Holtz Kraft-Core cardstock from the Nostalgic Collection by Core'dinations and then sanded it to bring out the kraft color. The image and patterned paper behind it are from the "A Proper Gentleman" collection from Graphic 45. The sentiment is from Hero Arts Stamps called All Occasion CL272.

Birthday Wishes

I love red plaid! The image is from the "A Proper Gentlman" collection but the red plaid patterned paper is from the "Commuique" collection by Graphic 45. I ran the background paper through my Sizzix dots embossing folder. The stamp set from Hero Arts is called Birthday Messages - CL139. I used a Fiskars ticket punch on the corners of the patterned paper and a We R Memory Keepers Tab punch on the cardstock for the sentiment. The black pearls are from Queen and Co.

let's go for a ride

This card uses the same embossing folder as above from Lifestyle Crafts and the same Core'dinations Cardstock except in black. Patterned paper is again from the Graphic 45 "A Proper Gentleman" collection. Gems are Metallic Decor from Hero Arts as well as the stamp I used for the sentiment. This one is called Joy Ride CL481. All base cardstock is from PTI.

I will be pinning these to my "Cards & Inspiration" board on Pinterest. If you love cards check it out! I pin cards I find from blogs I read and other boards I come across on there. I'm sure you'll find loads of inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and taking a look at my cards! This post is linked to these parties:

One Card, Two Challenges - CPS153 - LPSC54

I was so happy this morning when I read in my blog reader that Little Paper Shop was hosting a challenge with the colors red, white and black! This was a challenge tailor made for me!

This card also worked well for the challenge over at Card Positioning Systems. I generally do a separate one for each, but for these two this worked perfectly.

Thinking of You

I tried out a new Cuttlebug embossing folder on this card and I love it! I've only used Sizzix embossing folders up until now. I think I prefer the Cuttlebug ones a little bit better, so naturally now I want more!

Creative Belli Sketch Challenge CBC83

I've really entered my share of challenges this week! It's been fun and doing so has really made me think creatively. The challenge going on at Creative Belli is to create a card with hearts. That's it! I probably could have entered any one of the cards I had already made, but the fun for me is to challenge myself by creating a new one.

Heartfelt Wishes

I inked the edges of the patterned paper with Memento's Rich Brown. I stamped on my ribbon and inked the edges with both Rich Brown and Stampin' Up! Pixie Pink ink. I used my Making Memories Slice Machine to die cut the scallop heart. I hand cut the center heart out of a contrasting paper.

Products Used For This Card: Brown Cardstock from Paper By The Piece, Making Memories Patterned Paper "Newsprint Heart, Heart Floral & Glitter Heart" from Love Struck, Making Memories Slice Die Cut Machine Using the Basic 1 Cartridge, Fiskars Ticket Punch, May Art's Ribbon, Memento's Rich Cocoa Ink & Stampin' Up! Pixie Pink Ink, Hero Arts "All Occasion" Clear Stamps - CL272, Hero Arts 3 & 5 mm pearl gemstones.

Almost Done...

I have been feverishly trying to get all my cards done and I am nearing the end. I've made almost sixty and I still have about six left to go. This year I didn't use much black at all and that's my favorite color! I barely used any buttons either. It cost me a fortune last year for stamps, so I thought I'd save button usage for cards made during the rest of the year.

On Monday I found this great paper that I've used on the cards below. When I came home with it and told the hubby, he was surprised that I needed to buy more paper. He asked if I really needed it. What a ridiculous question that is! It's impossible to explain to men that you really need it when you have a room full of paper. Or that when you see something you have to get it at that moment because you may use it at some point or that it will be gone the next time you want to buy it.

The patterned paper is from Creative Imaginations called Holiday Season by Christine Adolph. It was exactly what I needed to make some quick cards. I made multiples of each.

Stocking

All I did to the stocking was add gemstones.

Presents

To the presents I just used my quickie glue pen on the ribbon and added glitter.

Deer

I didn't add anything but ribbon to the deer.

Tree with Flower Soft 2

This tree is probably my favorite. I added flower soft to imitate snow. Below is a side view so you can hopefully see it better.

Tree with Flowersoft
Well, I'm off to start addressing envelopes. I'll post more cards tomorrow.

Card Positioning Systems Sketch

There's not alot I don't like about this card. It has all my favorite elements...buttons, flowers, plaid paper and it's black and red no less! I also like the kraft color mixed in. I used one of the sketches (CPS143) from Card Positioning Systems again. The challenge of making a sketch my own makes cardmaking fun.
Here's the sketch...
