Mixed Berry Smoothie

Mixed Berry Smoothie
I had alot of very ripe fruit to use up so I decided to create my own recipe. Even though I didn't use milk or yogurt this would still be considered a smoothie, I think. Maybe it's more like a slushy. It doesn't matter, I thought it was refreshing!

It's a little tart, but I actually liked it. You could add more honey or you could add some sugar to take the tartness away, just adjust to your taste. For those of you following Weight Watchers, I figured the Points Plus at 2 per serving. This recipe makes 32 ounces which would make 4 - 8 ounce servings.

Mixed Berry Smoothie
serves 4

1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 strawberries, sliced
1 cup raspberries
1 banana
1/2 teaspoon almond extract, optional
1 teaspoon honey
2/3 cup light cranberry juice
2 cups crushed ice

Add all ingredients to blender and process on Smoothie if your blender has that button. If not, use whatever your blender manufacturer recommends. Pour into glass and enjoy!

I'm going to a smoothie class today. I'm hoping to get some ideas and new recipes. I look forward to sharing them!

This smoothie sounds really great! I'm trying to lose weight a bit to fit into my bathing suit and your smoothie seems to be something I'm looking for - so many tasty berries, just a little honey and lots of vitamins! Thank you for sharing :)
