Happy Birthday To Me!

Well another year come and gone. Today was my birthday and I'm glad it's over! For some reason I always dread my birthday. It just seems so depressing to me. Maybe it's my imagination, but it always seems like after my birthday the weather changes and it starts getting cooler. That is probably the reason I dread it. I can't stand winter and I start obsessing about it right about now. This summer has been especially cool which makes it doubly hard. Maybe I'll have to buy myself something sinfully rich like a brownie or make a cake or something in the next few days to make myself feel better.

We went to the Northern Highlands Music Festival in Lac du Flambeau today. Spin Doctors, Smash Mouth and Sugar Ray were the bands with Vic Ferrari and Arch Allies playing first. When we got there we caught the tail end of the Vic Ferrari band and they weren't too bad. I don't know what to say about Arch Allies. I'm kind of at a loss for words...which is hard for me. They do a tribute to Journey, Styx and REO Speedwagon. I'll just put it this way...I love Styx and I really like the song Sailing Away, but I really didn't care for their version. Whenever I hear that song going forward it will never be the same for me. We didn't stay for Smash Mouth and Sugar Ray. We had dinner reservations but missed them and had to go home because it was time to take the dog out.

I bought some licorice spice tea today and the best part of the day was going home and having a cup. It is fabulous and probably one of the best teas I have ever tasted.
