Scrappy Girls Make It Better Challenge #4

Life Is About Celebrating The Moments

This is my card creation for the Scrappy Girls Make It Better Challenge this week. The sketch is shown below. I can't give proper credit to the creator because I'm not sure where it originates from.

Once again I use a lot of black because it's one of my favorite colors to work with. I added a little red to make it "pop". I used cardstock from PTI and the patterned paper is from BoBunny from the Enchanted Collection. It's beautiful paper! The flourish is from Making Memories called shimmer flourish chipboard. I used two white flowers  Kaisercraft and the others I made using both the Carnation and Rose Creations dies from Donna Salazar by Spellbinders. The bling for the flower centers is from Bazzill, TPC and Hero Arts. The sentiment is by Hero Arts called Life Is Not Perfect - CL387. It's amazing what you can come up with just by using product in your stash that you forget that you have! This card can be used for wedding, anniversary or birthday.

Scrappy Girls Make It Better Challenge #3

Birthday Wishes

Whew! I just finished my card for the Scrappy Girls Make It Better challenge by the skin of my teeth! The sketch is below and it's one from Tsunami Rose Designs. I've had all week to work on this as the challenge runs from Monday to Sunday. I really struggled with this one and almost threw in the towel. I tried many combinations and just couldn't find something that I liked. We were to use the sketch and incorporate our favorite colors. I love black, red, kraft and white together. I have so many favorite colors and combinations and this is just one of many. Finally something clicked and I was able to create this card.

For this card I used kraft cardstock from PTI and Bazzill cardstock in black and white. The Martha Stewart edge punch I used is called eyelet lace. The buttons are from my stash. The patterned paper is from Creative Imaginations. The sentiment is from Hero Arts called Birthday Messages - CL139.

Scrappy Girls Challenge #1

Don't Hate Us.....

A group I belong to on Facebook is having their first challenge. The group is called Scrappy Girls Make It Better. This is an open group and you can see the different takes on the sketch below here. We had our choice of a layout or card sketch, or we could do both. I chose the card sketch and this is my take on it.

I pulled out some of my Graphic 45 scraps and used them for this card. I don't remember what collection this is from or if the patterns are even from the same collection. I used PTI  in vintage cream for my card base. The black ribbon is from May Arts. Gems are by Hero Arts and the stamp is from River City Rubberworks.

  Cherie Averill Sketch

This sketch is from Cherie Averill. I couldn't find a current blog for her. The blog Sassy Lil' Sketches looks like it hasn't been current since October 2011. I think that's where her sketches were used for challenges. Here's her Pinterest page if you'd like to check it out. I like to credit to people when I use their sketches.
