Just Chillin'

Just Chillin'

The other day my little guy was all sprawled out on the sofa. He looked so calm and just adorable (I'm a little biased, of course!) so I couldn't resist taking some pictures. It was a well deserved break for him after the few days he had just been through. We had some thunderstorms and he's developed a terrible anxiety over them. He's very careful to be on the alert now "just in case" he hears any noise that resembles thunder. He also knows that lightening is a bad thing too because then comes the thunder!

I love the sketches from Sketches!{by tamara} and chose to use sketch #118 from May 4, 2010. I'm also working on two other layouts and will post those soon.

Supplies used for this layout:
Bazzill Cardstock
Patterned Paper "Max & Whiskers" from BasicGrey
Cork Paper
Bone Cookie Cutter
Ting A Ling Twill Ribbon by AdornIt
Bone Paper Clip
Little Classic Mini's Alphabet Stamps "Dots" Font by Hampton Arts
Sizzix "Wet Paint & Classic" Fonts

Relaxation....at last!

I snapped this picture of Toby having a "dog nap". He's had a rough couple of days, or at least in his mind he has. First he had to go to the groomers last week which always stresses him out. Then I went to the drive thru at the pharmacy and when he didn't think the Pharmacist was paying attention to him he sat in the back seat staring at him and crying. You see, Toby knows what a drive thru is for. At the bank they love him, and he's always paid alot of attention and gets two dog bones. At the pharmacy, he only got half of a bone and I think he wondered what he had done to deserve that!

To top the week off, Steve had to leave for a work event last night and that really sent Toby into a tailspin. He laid by the door for probably five hours. No matter how much coaxing, I couldn't get him to move because he was so depressed. Toby always goes everywhere with us and when he has to stay home he's beside himself. I finally got him to come into my scrapbook room about 15 minutes before Steve got home.

I think our spoiled little brat deserves a little down time. He has to gear up for tomorrow when we both have to go to work.

Surprise Package!

I came home from work today to find a package at our door. It was from my friend Susie-Q, a former co-worker from the Twin Cities. As a total RAK (random act of kindness), last week I sent her a large box of hand-me-down bones from our very spoiled dog, Toby. As I expected nothing in return, I believe this is Sue's way of thanking us.

Tobes

This is Toby's (aka Mr. Sno-Dog) time of the year! He loves being outside since he definitely has a coat for it. He's part American Eskimo and Sheltie (Eskland). The first thing he does when he goes outside is to bury his face in the snow and rub both sides. I tried to get a picture of his face all full of snow, but he wouldn't cooperate.

Gifts

Fun gifts include a cute long sleeve shirt, a stainless steel sports bottle (Find The Cure) that I've been wanting since my daughters were here and I saw their bottles, and a Hike 'N Guide Carabiner. Now this one's a puzzle to me. Very cool with an LED flashlight, Knife Blade, Bottle Opener, File, Flathead Screwdriver and a Swing Out Compass For Accurate Reading. Now, Sue of all people knows that I am not the outdoor type by any means and either is my husband. But, I like it and one can never be under prepared for a catastrophe here in the Northwoods. You never know when you need to find a deer in the woods using the flashlight and the compass, get it drunk using the bottle opener, and then kill it with the flathead screwdriver.

I'll be calling Sue tomorrow to thank her for the great gifts.

Toby Does Halloween (Not!)

This is about as close to a Halloween costume as Toby gets. (I'm sure he's thinking, "I wanted a Cujo mask and all I got was this stupid bandanna!")

A Great Day For Finding Stuff

I just had to post a couple of pictures of Toby. He looks so handsome after going to the groomer today. The woman that cuts his hair does a fantastic job.

Toby2
She said they have a lot of arguments because he can get a little snippy. He doesn't like to have his feet touched and if he has any matts he doesn't even allow you to go near them.
Toby

Toby has had a stressful few days. First he had to go to the vet on Wednesday and when I left him at the groomer today he had a panicked look on his face.

Poor little guy! He's so very spoiled.

I also had a great day finding products that I haven't been able to get until now. My friend Jen told me that she actually saw soy yogurt at one of the area grocery stores. I stopped in and picked some up and I also found Rice Dream Ice Cream. Even though I'm not a huge fan of ice cream, at least I can have some now.

Cards, Cuts & A Cold Salad

I've been a little behind lately in updating my blog. Below are two cards made at Paper Studio using Graphic 45 papers and Hero Arts stamps.

The card shown above is made using Graphic 45 paper and Clear Arts stamps. I just love this paper!
Toby has a new 'do' and he is definitely stylin' as he waits for Steve to come home from work .

Here's a quick pasta salad I threw together for dinner tonight. I got the recipe several years ago from a co-worker. This is a pretty versatile recipe and you can add or omit ingredients to your liking. Here's what I used:
Whole Wheat Rotini, cooked and drained in cold water.
Chopped green and red peppers, red onion and tomatoes. Sliced black olives, cubed mozzarella cheese and pepperoni. I mixed this altogether then added fat free Italian dressing and tossed it one more time. When I've made this before I've also added cucumbers, cauliflower and broccoli. I've also used Turkey pepperoni in place of the regular stuff.

I am not getting out!

Yesterday afternoon I took Toby for a walk and on the way home stopped at the grocery store. For some reason lately, Toby doesn't want to get out of the van when we get home. I put everything away and left the door open but he wouldn't budge. He stayed in the van for 20 minutes before I could finally coax him out. Toby loves to go places. I think he feels that if he stays in the van, the next time I leave he will be sure to go and not be left at home.

Going To The Bank

Yesterday was a very exciting day for our dog Toby! Our local bank allows dogs to come in. That's correct...right up to the teller’s window. As you can imagine, this is very intriguing to him. I made my deposit and Toby made his. He sat very nicely and happily handed his right paw over for his treat. He also loves going through the drive thru so that he can pick up his treat on the run!

This weekend will be a busy one. At the local scrapbook store where I work, we’re busy getting ready for the Sayner Stampede. I'm taking the camera, so I’ll be posting pictures.
