Red Wine Round Steak....another recipe hit from the Busy Woman's Quick & Easy Recipes book I bought the other day. I'm all about easy meals and leftovers for the next day. Makes my job so much easier!
Red Wine Round Steak
2 pounds (3/4-inch) thick round steak
Canola oil - I just used cooking spray
1 (1 ounce) packet onion soup mix
1 cup dry red wine
1 (4 ounce) can sliced mushrooms
Preheat over to 325.
Remove all fat from steak and cut into serving-size pieces. Brown meat in skittle with a little oil. When browned on both sides, place in sprayed 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
Combine soup mix, wine, mushrooms and 1 cup hot water in skillet and pour over steak. Cover and bake for 1 hour 20 minutes or until steak is tender. Serves 6 to 8.
We loved this and since it was so simple and only four ingredients, I may just make it again next week.
The wine I used in this recipe was leftover from a bottle we opened and didn't care for. We've found that we like white wine better than red. It worked perfect for this though!

My mom wanted me to tell you that she tried your pasta, chicken and spinach recipe and everyone LOVED it! She's another one of those lurkers that never leave comments so she's having me do it for her, ha! ;) Guess I'll have to try it for sure now!
See you tomorrow hopefully!
