Christmas Cards

Peace Love Joy

Today I want to share a few Christmas cards I created. I actually cut back on the amount of cards I sent out this year. I even **GASP** broke down and purchased some 'store bought' cards! I just couldn't find the time to make as many as I usually do. Plus, I had joined a mini book swap, a Christmas card swap and a tag swap which kept me busy.

For the one above I used a new embossing folder and a new Tim Holtz die I picked up on one of my trips to the Mall of America Archiver's store. I really love this embossing folder!

Merry Christmas

For this one I used another new set of  Sizzix Framelits that I purchased online on sale. Online shopping is the best! You just can't beat the deals you can get. I took a Hero Arts clear stamp and masked part of it so I would only stamp the word 'Christmas'.

Tree-mendous Christmas

This card was made using a new Tim Holtz Sizzix Movers and Shapers die. I'm so happy I broke down and bought the Movers and Shapers base tray. I've been going to do that for so long. I like the freedom of moving the dies where I want them.

This inside of this card. I used Canvas Corp Christmas Brights Cardstock for the tree.

Compliments of the Season

This final card was created using up some of my Graphic 45 scraps. I also used a poinsettia die that is from Taylored Expressions.

Cards

Joy To All

I thought I'd share a few of the Christmas cards I've been working on. I purchased some new holiday patterned paper, but I find myself trying to use up some that I've had for awhile. I've also been using up a lot of my scraps.  I'm not sure of the name of this paper, but I believe its from Teresa Collins. The die for the tree is one I bought after watching a demo at Scrapfest. It's from Hero Arts and is called Stamp & Cut Christmas Trees. There are also three tree stamps with the set. The sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts and the set is called Joy To All.

Peace Love Joy

This card is based on the first one. I used up some scraps I had and I'm not positive, but this paper might be from BoBunny. The stamp is from Paper Trey Ink called Christmas Blessings. I don't think you can tell from the photo, but for the sentiment I embossed it with clear embossing powder.

Merriest Wishes

I used patterned paper from Echo Park called Holly Jolly Christmas for this card. This design is not mine. I've seen many cards made like this and have always thought it would be a nice quick card to make. It's super simple, with the exception of the darn bows! I did use a fork though to make it easier. The Hero Arts Stamp set for this sentiment is called Merriest Wishes.

Wishing You Well

Lastly, I made this card for a great gal from the Scrappy Girl group I belong to. I met a ton of wonderful ladies online who share the same passion as I do for Scrapfest. The woman who received this card fell and broke her arm and ended up needing surgery. I've been stocking up on Washi Tape, so I thought I better start working through my stash! I love Hero Arts stamps and this one is called Handwritten Wishing.

That's it for now. I do have more projects to share, but I'll do separate posts for them. I hope you had a great weekend and are ready to start another new week tomorrow!

{Scraplifted} Rustic Poinsettia Cards

wishing you holiday Cheer

This is my version of a card that I scraplifted from the Holiday Cards & More issue from PaperCrafts Magazine. If you have this issue you can find the card on page 27.

PaperCrafts Magazine Holiday Cards & More, Vol. 7

The black one is my favorite! I picked up this Hero Arts stamp set when I was at Scrapfest in September. There are six sentiments so I decided to use all of them and vary the colors of the card bases, burlap and poinsettias. Below are five variations.

sending christmas Joy Believe in the miracle of the holidays good tidings this Christmas 'tis the season to be Jolly Merry christmas to you

Of course I couldn't stop there! I kept putting different combinations together and I ended up making 21 cards.

Card Collage

I had some felt already in my stash of supplies and I had bought a yard of burlap the last time I was at Joann's. The red and green burlap I actually found at the Dollar Store!

These are the other supplies I used for these cards.

Christmas Cards

Do you ever feel overwhelmed with scraps? That's exactly how I feel! I've tried to organize them by patterns, color and size. I have so many it's starting to make me crazy. When something catches my eye I stop and create something.

The Graphic 45 Christmas Emporium patterned paper I've used on all three of these cards is what I had left after making mini albums. I still have a good amount left, but most of the larger pieces have been used up. I know black isn't a traditional Christmas card color, but I like it!

I made these cards in August and set aside a few to get a jump start on my Christmas card making. I also added a few to my Etsy store. This has probably been one of my favorite lines from Graphic 45. I believe I heard that this collection is going to be retired.

I'm a member of the Graphic 45 Ning site. After I uploaded the card above to my page on their site, I was pleasantly surprised when I received an email that it was selected as one of their featured photos.

I also used the Pure Poppy and True Black cardstock from Papertrey Ink. Here are some of the other products I used:
